The summer is marching along! It has been a great one so far. Vacation Bible School was a wonderful week. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped to make that week such a success. We have had numerous things happening throughout the summer so far, and there is much more to come. Make sure to stay up on what is happening through the bulletin and Parkview Life emails.

This week, we have the opportunity to celebrate our nation and our independence. For Christians, our nation’s Independence Day has always been an opportunity to pause and reflect on the impact our freedoms have on our worship. We are able to meet for worship each week without fear or hindrance. We can communicate the timeless message of the Gospel without censorship and point people to our God who is the source of our salvation and all of the spiritual blessings we enjoy. What a tremendous blessing!

As we celebrate our freedom, it should naturally turn our hearts to the Lord in gratitude. I would encourage you to reflect on several things this Fourth of July weekend. First, praise the Lord for what he has given. His grace poured out on us is the greatest gift of all. Second, let us be thankful for those who have served us and preserved that freedom. Our service men and women give much to preserve and protect our freedoms. Pray for them and their families. Finally, let us join in prayer for our nation. Prayer is powerful, and prayer changes things. Scripture’s consistent encouragement is toward prayer in all things without ceasing. We are encouraged to pray for our leaders and one another. So, let us ask the Lord to do mighty things in the hearts and lives of those in this country that we call our own.

We are gearing up for a great wrap to the summer and start to the Fall. We hope that you will be a part of what the Lord is doing here at Parkview. Join us this Sunday as we reflect on all that God has given us and spend some time praying for our nation in our services. I hope that your holiday this week is a joyful one.

Yours in Christ,
Pastor Chris
